Seven Gunmen, suspected to be herdsmen, have kidnapped a businessman and farmer in Oke-Onigbin, in Isin local government area of Kwara state.
The Police Command in the state confirmed this on Friday.
It was gathered that the businessman, popularly known as Alaga, was abducted alongside his two aides on his way back from his farm around 7 pm on Wednesday.
The victims, unknown to them ran into an ambush set for them by their abductors.
A scuffle ensued and the two aides were able to escape while their boss was taken away to an unknown destination.
However, the two aides sustained several machete cuts from the scuffle with the kidnappers.
The aides narrated their ordeal to the hunters and other security agencies in the area and immediately, a search operation was launched for Alaga.
At the time of filing this report, the businessman was yet to be released by his captors and nothing has been heard from the security operatives who went in search of him.
