The Plateau State Executive Council has approved the procurement of 50 patrol pickup vans and 200 security motorcycles for distribution to security agencies to fight insecurity and crime in the state.
This was disclosed to journalists on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dan Manjang, after the weekly State Executive Council Meeting held at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
Manjang said the decision was taken in order to strengthen the capacity of security agencies’ response to various security threats across the state.
The Commissioner said the vehicles and motorcycles will be deployed across the states for the purpose of tackling kidnapping, banditry, and other crimes.
