The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has rescheduled a fresh meeting with the leaderships of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and representatives of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum over the lingering strike that has affected court activities across the country for two weeks.
The meeting is scheduled to hold in Abuja on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
Recall that on April 6, Judiciary workers embarked on a nationwide indefinite strike to demand for judiciary’s financial autonomy.
Ngige had on Thursday postponed the meeting he was scheduled to hold with the NBA, JUSUN and other stakeholders over the lingering crisis.
The leaderships of the body of lawyers and the striking workers’ union, both of whom in response, called for nationwide protests over the matter.
The protests were held in Abuja and different part of the country on Monday.
