Three Students of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (FUAM), Benue State were abducted by gunmen on the university campus at the weekend.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, confirmed the abduction of the students to newsmen on Monday.
She said that the students were kidnapped at 10:30pm while they were studying close to the lecture theatre in campus.
She added that the Police have since swung into action to ensure the safe return of the students to their parents.
Also confirming the incident, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Richard Kimbir, said the school was not sure of the number of students kidnapped but that the actual number would be ascertained at the end of an ongoing management meeting.
