Buhari returns to Nigeria, says London medical checkup went well

President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja on Thursday evening after his medical check-up in the United Kingdom.

The presidential aircraft conveying the president and some presidential aides landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 4.45 p.m yesterday.

Speaking to journalists shortly after his arrival, Buhari said his routine medical checkup went well as a result of the best wishes of Nigerians.

He said, “It went very well, after your well wishes.”

Responding to questions concerning the appointment of the new Inspector-General of Police, President Buhari said, “We went through the system, there was a committee by the Minister of Police Affairs.

“They gave me some names and he happened to be the one chosen. He knows his job, he has been in it for a long time, he went through all the trainings, he has the necessary experience. So, we have a high expectation from him.”

Recall that the President left the country for London on March 30.
