Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has said bad eggs in the Nigeria Police Force should be uprooted in order to put an end to the bad name being given to the security outfit.
The Speaker said this in Abuja on Thursday while declaring open, a public hearing on the Police Service Commission Act (Repeal and Re-Enactment) Bill 2020 and the National Institute for Police Studies (Establishment) Bill 2020.
He, however, acknowledged police officers who have distinguished themselves globally but are not trusted at home.
Gbajabiamila said, “while there are many good officers and men of the NPF, the few bad ones are creating problems for the outfit”.
At the event were the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Dingyadi; Chairman, PSC, DIG Musiliu Smith; Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; and representatives of the service chiefs.
