Unknown gunmen reportedly attacked the National Institution of Construction Technology, Uromi in Edo state on Wednesday, abducting some teachers and students of the institution.
As at the time of filing this report, the number of teachers and students abducted could not be ascertained.
Tension gripped the community as parents and guardians of the kidnapped victims reportedly ran to the institution looking for their wards.
The newly appointed spokesman of the state police command, SP. Bello Kontongs, confirmed the incident via a phone call.
He said: “I have also heard about the incident since yesterday night. There is no detail yet. I am waiting for the officer in charge of the anti-kidnapping and be assured that as soon as we get details, we will let you know.”
