The Deputy Speaker of Ogun State Assembly, Dare Kadiri, who represents Ijebu North State Constituency 2, has been impeached on grounds of alleged “gross misconduct.”
It was reported that no fewer than 22 lawmakers had last week signed a petition for Kadari’s removal.
However, an ad-hoc committee was set up by Speaker Kunle Oluomo on Monday to investigate the allegations against the deputy speaker.
The committee, headed by Hon. Yusuff Sherrif, gathered that majority of the allegations levelled against Kadiri include “gross misconduct” and he was expected to respond in writing to the Investigation Committee.
It was later reported that he was impeached during a plenary session on Thursday morning.
