NURTW members clash again in Ondo, govt suspends activities

There was tension on Tuesday morning at Oja Oba Area of Akure, Ondo State, as members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) engaged in a clash.

This incident occurred barely 2 days after a fight by members of NURTW at the Owode area in the State.

Residents and traders had to close their business and flee for safety during the clash.

Vehicles were also reportedly vandalized by the rampaging members of the union.

Following the violent clash, the state government announced the indefinite suspension of all activities of NURTW across the state.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Special Duties and Strategy, Doyin Odebowale, who announced the directive on Tuesday, also ordered the union members to immediately vacate all motor parks across the state.
