The governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom, has assured the people of the state that the criminals who murder Reverend Father Ferdinand would be arrested and brought to justice.
The clergy was murdered on Tuesday inside the Parish house at Aye Twar village in the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state.
Ortom said: “I reassure the people of Katsina-Ala and Sankera that the State Government will not relent until those responsible for the killing and other attacks in the area are brought to justice.
The governor described the attack as mindless and wondered why a harmless priest would become the target of armed men.
The governor also appealed to the people of Benue State to cooperate with security operatives in giving them useful and timely information and also said his administration will never handover to bandits.
He expressed his sympathy towards the bereaved family and prayed for eternal rest for the victim.
