A House of Representatives member, Yuguda Hassan-Kila, representing Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, is dead.
Hassan-Kila died on Thursday at the age of 65.
Confirming the death, Auwal Sankara, a media aide to the Governor of Jigawa State, said the lawmaker died at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Hassan-Kila’s is the second federal lawmaker from Jigawa state to die in the current National Assembly, after the death of Muhammad Adamu Fagen-Gawo who died in December 2019.
The late lawmaker worked with the Nigeria Customs Service where he rose to the position of the comptroller of customs before joining politics.
Meanwhile, the governor of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru, and President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family of the deceased, his constituents in Gwaram and the entire people of the state over the loss.
