CCT Chairman finally reacts to viral video of him assaulting a guard in Abuja, blames “Biafran Boys”

There was pandemonium at the Banex Plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja as the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Umar Danladi, was seen in a viral video assaulting a security guard in the business complex.

In the five-minute video, the CCT Chairman was seen slapping and kicking a yet-to-be-identified security guard while police officers around the vicinity tried to restrain him.

The incident resulted in a small mob gathering as people were heard shouting “Go away, go away, oga go inside your car, respect yourself” while throwing plastic bottles at him and his car.

Reacting to this incident, the media aide to the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal, Ibraheem Al-Hassan, said in a statement that the CCT Chairman was the one assaulted during the altercation.

He said the Chairman did not assault the security guard instead, “mobs, consisting of “BIAFRAN BOYS” were throwing matches and sharp objects at his car, which led to deep cut and dislocation in one of his fingers, causing damage to his car, smashing his windscreen.

Al-Hassan added that “At a point, he attempted to leave the scene, these same miscreants, BIAFRAN BOYS ordered for the closure of the gate thereby assaulting him before the arrival of a police team from the Maitama police station.

“An incident like this when it happened, sympathy usually goes to the low personalities. Though it is unfortunate as I said, it ought not to have happened.”

Some Nigerians have reacted to the video clip and statement saying the “BIAFRAN BOYS” statement is tribalistic.
