Abductors of 4 Abuja residents demand N50m ransom

The gunmen, who attacked Anguwar Hausawa in Naharati community, Abaji Area Council, Abuja, and kidnapped 4 residents, have demanded N50 million as a ransom for their release.

Roots TV had reported that armed men invaded houses in the area around 1am on Sunday and abducted 4 residents, identified as Abubakar Umar, Abdulkarim Yusuf, 13-year-old Abdulrahman Isah and Abdullahi Umar.

But however, a combined team of the police and vigilante killed two of the kidnappers in an attempt to thwart the abduction.

Speaking on Monday, a relative of one of the victims said contact has been established with the kidnappers and they are demanding N50 million.

He said, “In fact, just about an hour ago, they called back again after intensive negotiation as they brought the ransom down to N10 million, even as we still told them that we don’t have such money.

“Though, negotiation was still ongoing with the kidnappers.”
