Abduction foiled as Police rescue victims in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has revealed how it foiled a kidnap attempt and rescued five persons in the state.

The Command revealed this in a statement by ASP Muhammad Jalige, the state police public relations officer, who said the armed criminals were intercepted along the Birnin Gwari road.

He said: “On Friday 26th March 2021 at about 1200hrs information has it that some armed bandits numbering ten (10) with sophisticated weapons blocked Kaduna to Birnin Gwari road in an attempt to kidnap five (5) occupants of a Volkswagen Golf vehicle with Reg No DKA 539 TU heading towards Birnin Gwari from Kaduna.

On receiving the report, the patrol team attached to Buruku Division immediately swung into action, engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, and successfully repelled the bandits who scampered into the forest with various degrees of bullet wounds and rescued all the occupants of the vehicle safely.”

The victims have been reunited with their families and efforts are being made to make sure the fleeing bandits are arrested. 

The rescued victims were identified as; Nuhu Garba, Iamail Muhammed, Halima Suleiman, Karima Ayuba, they are all from Birnin Gwari. Then Musba’u Usman, of Funtua town in Katsina State.
