A formal request from President Muhammadu Buhari for the confirmation of the newly appointed service chiefs has been received by the Senate.
The request, contained in a letter dated January 27, was read by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, during plenary on Tuesday.
In a separate letter, Buhari also sought the confirmation of the appointment of the former service chiefs as non-career ambassadors.
He as well requested the Senate’s confirmation of Victor Muruako as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Aghughu Adolphus as Auditor-General of the Federation, Larry Chukwu as Commissioner representing South-East, at the Nigerian Law Reform Commission and Wakil Bukar as Commissioner representing Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States, at the Federal Civil Service Commission.
However, the lawmakers adjourned all legislative activities for the day to honor a member representing Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ossy Prestige, who recently died.
