A group of protesters blocked the Osogbo-Ilesha Expressway in Osun state in the early hours of Tuesday, alleging harassment by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Vehicular movements were prevented by the protesters, who made bonfires on the road.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun Command, Daniel Adigun, who confirmed the incident to reporters said the EFCC raided some suspected internet fraudsters in the area on Monday night, which warranted the protest.
He said, “From reports made available to us, EFCC raided some suspected internet fraudsters in the area last night and the protest, we are told, is organized by some of them.”
