MASSOB Condemns Orlu Invasion by Military

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra has condemned the invasion and attack on Orlu community, Imo State, by men of the Nigeria Armed Forces.

Uchenna Made, the leader of MASSOB in Owerri, faulted the attack on Thursday February 18, 2021, adding that the Nigerian military finds it easy fighting harmless and innocent citizens but grows a cold foot in getting to bandits and Boko Haram insurgents.

He said, “The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra condemns the ongoing military onslaught against the people of Biafra in the Orlu province of Biafra. MASSOB is surprised that men of the Nigerian military can exhibit these high skills of both land and aerial combatant in a peaceful city like Orlu. Nigerians are blaming their government that the military personnel is not equipped to engage the Boko Haram, Arewa bandits, and Fulani herdsmen ravaging the entire nation, but this genocidal military operation of the Nigerian government is equipped for the systematic elimination of the people of Biafra. MASSOB calls upon the international community and people-oriented Human rights organizations to intervene in the ongoing genocidal onslaught against the people of Biafra.”

Also, in reaction to the invasion, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have written a letter to the Nigerian government titled: They have finally brought the war upon the Biafra people.”

According to the statement, IPOB said no inch of Biafra land would be ceded to the Fulani Marauders from the Sahel and that the Nigerian government has activated its final solution to the Biafra question by deploying Helicopter gunships in Orlu.

The Eastern Security Network, a paramilitary outfit created by the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, also stated that they have accepted the challenge, saying they would neither retreat nor surrender, and they will defend every inch of their land.
