A group of contractors claiming to have executed various projects amounting to N8bn for the Project Development Institute, Enugu, barricaded the National Assembly complex protesting over non-payment of their money by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The contractors said the N8bn outstanding fee is for the various projects completed since December 2020.
Joy Uche, leader of the group, told newsmen that it has been hard for them to cater for their families and that some of the contractors had died in the process of trying to get their entitlements.
Also, an aggrieved contractor, Favour Emenike said they decided to come to the National Assembly to plead with their elected representatives to prevail over the Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, to pay them their outstanding fees.
He added that a had been submitted to the House of Representatives on the matter.
