Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja Zonal Office, have uncovered an ‘academy’ for the grooming of internet fraudsters.
This ‘academy’ was discovered when the operatives, acting on intelligence, stormed the location in Arab Contractors Area of Mpape Hills, a suburb of Abuja on Thursday, February 18.
27 internet fraud suspects were apprehended, while a Toyota Venza car, 30 mobile phones and one laptop were confiscated during the raid.
According to reports, the ‘academy’ is owned by a 30-year-old Emmanuel Clement. His ‘students’ are mostly young school leavers, ladies inclusive, within the age range of 18-25 years.
The commission said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
