U.S President Trump impeached

The United States House of Representatives has impeached President Donald Trump for inciting invasion and encouraging violence at the Capitol Hill during the certification of the 2020 presidential election on January 6.

This impeachment makes Donald Trump the first president in U.S history to be impeached twice following charges of “incitement of insurrection” over the past event at the congress.

Donald Trump is set to face trial at the upper chamber before he leaves office next Wednesday. Consequently, Senators will be able to vote to bar him from ever holding public office again.

Meanwhile, President Trump in a video released after the vote in the House called on his supporters to remain peaceful without making mention of his impeachment.

Trump in an appeasing tone said, “Violence and vandalism have no place in our country… No true supporter of mine would ever endorse political violence.”
