The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, has said the National Assembly will pass the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) as well as secure a presidential assent by May 29, 2021.
Lawan made this known during the opening ceremony of the Two day Public Hearing on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) by the Senate joint committee on Petroleum upstream, downstream and gas.
He said the national assembly will pass the Bill by April, after which it would be transmitted for presidential assent before May 29.
The lawmaker added that the National Assembly is considering a hybrid PIB as against the solo bill that was introduced in 2008 and 2015.
