The Ogun State Police Command busted a drug cartel in the State on Thursday and recovered over N2,722,750 and N10m worth of hard drugs.
The exhibits were displayed by the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, at the police headquarters in Abeokuta.
The Commissioner said the police acted based on a tip-off and made the recoveries while the suspects escaped from the scene, noting that the command resisted engaging the fleeing suspects to in order to avoid civilian casualties.
Items recovered include; N2,722,750 cash, 110 parcels of weed suspected to be Indian hemp, 50 packs of codeine, 12 packs of Rephnol, 6 packs of uniplex codeine, 4 packs of Pandeen expectorant, 2 packs of emzoline, 3 packs of backwoods honey, 1 carton of max cough codeine, battle axes, cutlasses and dangerous charms.
Ajogun ensured that efforts were being made to track and apprehend the dealers.
