Police arrests kidnapper who murdered 5-year-old girl in Kogi

The Nigerian Police Force, on Wednesday, paraded in Abuja, one Friday Domozu from Kogi State, who aided a gang that kidnapped and cruelly murdered a five-year-old-girl, Farida Ibrahim, in Dekina, Kogi State.

According to Domozu, the gang asked the victim’s family for N8 million, which the family could not afford. Farida was killed and buried in a shallow grave by the gang before they were apprehended by the Police.

25 other suspects were also paraded by the Police Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba, for various offences.

Among those paraded is a 20-year-old man, Abubakar Amodu, who was arrested for the kidnap of his father and collecting the sum of N2million as ransom.

The suspect, speaking with newsmen, said his father who is a herdsman gave him 15 cows.

Amodu said, “I became friends with the members of the gang, who told me that my father was rich, and he should be kidnapped for money.

“After we kidnapped my father, he paid N2m and I was given N200, 000 as my share.”

A security guard at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Abubakar Liyu was also paraded. He worked with kidnappers to abduct lecturers in the university.

Liyu claimed to have participated in the kidnapping of three lecturers and got paid N30, 000 for the abduction of the two lecturers and got paid nothing for the last operation.

Also, Members of a gang responsible for the killing of an immigration officer, his sister and wife in June 2020 were paraded.
