Some angry youths in Agugu community, Ibadan, Oyo State, attacked a team of the joint security task force (JTF) of the police and men of the Amotekun Corps on Monday over alleged unlawful arrests.
According to reports, the security operatives had come to the area to arrest those involved in the #EndSARS protest that led to the killings of some police personnel.
A police officer whose identity was not revealed as at the time of filing of this report, was said to have been severely injured during the attack.
The Oyo State Command Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said the injured officer was already receiving treatment at the hospital, adding that some of the youths have been arrested and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
