FCMB MD Goes On Voluntary Leave Over Infidelity Allegations

Following the paternity allegations leveled against Adam Nuru, the Managing Director of First City Monument Bank Ltd, the bank has released a statement on Tuesday the 5th of January 2021, stating that the MD had volunteered to go on leave, to aid the bank’s investigation into the paternity allegations against him.

About 1,927 people have allegedly signed a petition calling for Nuru’s sack owing to the infidelity case involving him and a former staff, Moyo Thomas. The petition asks that the Central Bank of Nigeria and FCMB Board dismiss Nuru on ethical grounds.

The bank’s statement reads;

We are aware of several stories circulating across several media platforms about our banks Managing Director, Adam Nuru, a former employee, Moyo Thomas, and her deceased husband, Tunde Thomas.

While this is a personal matter, the tragedy of the death of Tunde Thomas and the allegations of unethical conduct require the bank’s board to conduct a review of what transpired any violations of our code of ethics.

This is already underway. During the period of the review, the managing director has volunteered to proceed on leave. This will guarantee the sanctity of the review process.

We enjoin all our stakeholders to bear with us as we conduct this review and to please respect the various families involved.”

This is coming after friends of the late Tunde, former husband of Moyo Thomas alleged that he died of depression after Moyo reportedly informed him that he was not the father of their two children, and that the kids were fathered by Adam Nuru.

Moyo had since relocated to the United States with the children before informing her late husband.

The late Tunde already reportedly moved on with his life and was preparing to get married to another woman who was pregnant for him. He allegedly suffered a cardiac arrest and died two days prior to his introduction ceremony.
