U.S Attorney-General William Barr Dumps Trump’s Cabinet

U.S. Attorney-General, William Barr, has confirmed his resignation from President Donald Trump’s cabinet, after rumors of a fall out with the president.

Barr’s two-page resignation letter was posted on Twitter on Monday evening by Trump. Although no reason was given for the decision, the president however, projected the attorney-general as leaving on a good note.

“Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job!

“As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family,” Trump tweeted.

The resignation, which came as the Electoral College formally confirmed Joe Biden as winner of the presidential election, is effective December 23.

Deputy Attorney-General, Jeff Rosen, whom Trump described as an outstanding person, is to succeed Barr in acting capacity.
