The Director General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, near Jos, Habu Galadima is dead.
Brig.-Gen. C.F.J. Udaya, the Secretary and Director of Administration of the Institute announced the death in a statement on Sunday in Jos.
Galadima, 57, died Sunday morning after a brief illness, Uday said.
“On behalf of the Board of Governors, management and staff of the institute, we regret to announce the sudden demise of the Director General of NIPSS, Prof. Habu Galadima.
“This occurred this morning, December 20, after a brief illness.
“He will be buried according to Islamic rites,” he said.
Born in 1963 in Toto Local Government of Nassarawa State, Professor Habu Galadima received early education at Shafa Abkpa Primary School and Federal School of Arts and Science, Suleja. He then proceeded to the University of Jos, where in 1987 he obtained a degree in Political Science.
In search of further specialisation in International Relations and Strategic Studies, he pursued postgraduate training in his Alma Mata, earning the MSc degree in 1990 and PhD in 2006.
The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies is a policy formation center for bureaucrats, private sector leaders, Army officers, and medium-rank and senior civil servants, which was founded in 1979.
