Dumebi Kachikwu Seeks Support for the Nigerian Patriot Act to stop public officials and privileged individuals from seeking medical care in foreign countries or sending their kids to overseas schools

The Chairman of ROOTSTV Nigeria, Dumebi Kachikwu has launched an online campaign seeking the support of the general public to pass the Nigerian Patriot Act into law.

The proposition if passed into law will make it a criminal offence punishable by fine, impeachment or revocation of business license for any politician at federal or state level or director of a major business corporation to visit a foreign health facility for medical attention, sends his child to an overseas school or bypasses any of the everyday realities that Nigerians live under.

The bill will also mandate public officials to use the roads while travelling across Nigeria.

The media mogul wants Nigerians to endorse the initiative by visiting https://www.thenigerianpatriotact.com/#Endorse-Bill to lend their support. He believes that until politicians and privileged individuals are made to feel the pains of the everyday people, nothing would change.

Kachikwu who has remained consistent in his call for a new consciousness amongst the long suffering people had in an earlier broadcast opined that government officials can afford to ignore the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) because their kids don’t school here so they don’t feel the pains and anxieties of parents who continually worry over the fate of their grown up children who have been forced tor remain at home for almost a year following the closure of the public universities.

He also made the same argument concerning the deterioration in our health facilities.

It is his view that had there been something like the Nigerian Patriot Act in place, the embarrassing report a few years ago that the State House Clinic in the Presidential Villa does not have basic drugs would not have been possible.

He stated that senior officials of government including the president can afford to care less since they can jet out of the country at any moment to get the best medical attention for themselves in Europe and America while ordinary people are left to their fate.

A visit to the www.thenigerianpatriotact.com showed that the proposition is only garnering support from many aggrieved Nigerians who are angry at the shape of things in Africa’s most populous country.
