Niger Delta group forecloses further engagement with FG until critical issues of underdevelopment are addressed, vows to sanction any officials who engages Abuja

A rights group in the Niger Delta, the United Delta Energy Development Security Service (UNDEDSS) has announced an immediate ban on negotiations with the Federal Government until the issues and plights of the Niger Delta people are resolved.

This was disclosed during an emergency virtual event organized by UNDEDSS where it said that all future cooperation with the Federal Government has ceased.

In a statement signed by the groups secretary General, Comrade Tony Uranta which was issued after the meeting stated that the decisions made by the group will not be reversed until the 2016 16-point demands laid before President Buhari “were urgently and comprehensively met as promised by the president at a parley held in Aso Villa with representatives of the group and Niger Delta Leaders.”

According to the statement by UNDEDSS, “Niger Delta will mark any putative regional leaders who will attempt to break the no more dialogue embargo. “Enough is enough. We shall no longer remain in a union where we are third-class citizens.”
