Insecurity: Wife of governor Akeredolu’s chief of staff kidnapped

The wife of Olugbenga Ale, chief of staff to Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo state, has been abducted by unidentified gunmen.

The abduction was confirmed by Tee-Leo Ikoro, the police public relations officer in Ondo state.

The lady was reportedly abducted at Owena along Ondo-Akure expressway in Idanre local government area of the state on Thursday night.

A family source said she was coming from Lagos on a business trip when her vehicle was stopped and she was whisked away alongside two other persons.

The source said one of the passengers fled into the bush while Ale’s wife, her driver and one other woman were not lucky.

The gunmen were said to have later released the driver but still kept the two women.

The police PRP revealed that security operatives were combing the forest to find and rescue the victims.

Several parts of the south west have been gripped by rising spate of insecurity as kidnappers, armed robbers and sundry criminals create miseries for families and businesses.

Hours before the recent kidnap involving the wife of Akerodolu’s chief of staff, a traditional ruler in the state, Israel Adeusi, Olufon of Ifon was shot and killed by yet-to-be identified gunmen on his way back to his palace from a meeting of the traditional rulers in the state.
