The presidential panel investigating the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) Ibrahim Magu, today submitted its report to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Justice Ayo Salami who chairs the panel submitted the report to Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The panel was set up in July this year to investigate various allegations of wrongdoing against Magu.
Minister of justice, Abubakar Malami had submitted a memo to the president earlier in the year accusing Magu of insubordination and failure to properly account assets confiscated by the EFCC.
Magu’s Abuja homes were searched by security operatives after he was whisked away from the Commission’s headquarters and brought to the Presidential Villa to account for his stewardship following the commencement of investigations by the Salami panel.
The former EFCC boss has however maintained his innocence, insisting that he discharged the duties of his office to the best of his abilities.
