Samuel Eto’o, Africa’s football legend and former Barcelona and Chelsea FC striker was yesterday involved in a car accident in his home country, Cameroon.
The former captain of Cameroon’s senior national team had an accident close to Nkongsamba while returning from a wedding, according to reports.
Eto’o is in a stable condition, Martin Camus, a Cameroon journalist who broke the news of Eto’o’s accident, said on Twitter.
“The crushed car Samuel Eto’o was in. I can confirm that he is fine, we spoke again,” Camus said. “Doctors take care of additional examinations.”
Eto’o, 39, won African Footballer of the Year award four times. He retired from football in 2019 after a very successful career in Spain, Russia, England and Italy.
