Alaafin of Oyo heaps praises on Makinde, commends him for delivering on his electoral promises

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, has heaped praises on the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, calling him a “practical politician.”

The royal father stated that the governor has employed his position of power to redefine governance in the state.

Oba Adeyemi said this on Tuesday when he hosted the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Jerome Pasquier, in his palace. He told the ambassador that Makinde had succeeded in fulfilling many of the promises made during the electioneering period on free education, health, urbanisation, agricultural promotion, among others.

The royal father praised the Makinde administration’s efforts at turning around the tourism sector by partnering with international and local interests so as to create wealth and employment for the youths.

The French ambassador commended Oba Adeyemi for maintaining the pride of Africans abroad and at home in the Yoruba culture. He disclosed that France was working towards co-operation with the state to boost partnership in research in archaeology, social sciences, humanities, education, and promotion of culture and tourism.

Makinde has been praised by many stakeholders for his vision, transparency and administrative courage.

His administration has been working to improve the lots of the people which has earned the governor accolades from political leaders like Bode George, and groups such as the Oyo Kajola Group (OKG), a pan-Oyo socio-political group.
