NBA sets up task force to address delay in service delivery at the Corporate Affairs Commission

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has set up a taskforce to identify the issues leading to unnecessary service delays at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

A statement signed by the Association’s publicity secretary, Rapulu Nduka revealed that this initiative came as  a result of the various reports and grievances expressed by legal practitioners in the delay in service delivery by the CAC due to amongst other reasons, the recent change in CAC protocols.

The statement revealed that the Association’s president, Olumide Akpata mandated the  taskforce to look into the complaints of lawyers over service failures at the CAC.

Members of the taskforce are mandated to engage the Registrar-General of the Commission in order to come up with workable solutions for all stakeholders involved.

Ayuli Jemide would serve as the chairman of the taskforce, while Victor Frank-Briggs would function as the vice chairman. Olubukola Olonade-Agaga would serve as secretary.

Folarin Aluko, Marx Ikongbeh, Uche Nwadialo, Chike Madubuike, Ahmed Modibbo were listed as members of the taskforce.

A part of the statement read: “The NBA recognises that the smooth running of processes at the CAC is key to ease of doing business across the country, and its inefficiencies affect the businesses of many members of the NBA and those of their clients.

The NBA urges all lawyers and stakeholders to co-operate with members of the committee (who have demonstrated understanding of the issues), in working out solutions to these challenges.”
