More than 30, including students, pupils feared dead in early morning petrol tanker explosion

Many people are feared dead after a petrol tanker exploded on Wednesday morning in Felele, Kogi State following head on collision with a tricycle popularly called keke. 

Several reports from news channels, eye witness accounts and social media indicate that more than 30 persons lost their lives in the accident.

Students of Kogi State Polytechnic, school pupils, residents, and passers-by were burnt by the fire sparked by the explosion.

Eyewitness account revealed that the petrol tanker which was coming from the Okene while making its way to the northern part of the country had a failed break which led to the accident.

Rescue workers immediately rushed to the scene to put out the fire and provide first aid services to the victims.
