Magu: Interrogations Continue Today

The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission- EFCC- Ibrahim Magu spent the night in detention at police headquarters in Abuja.

Magu who was interrogated yesterday at the State House Abuja by a panel set up to investigate the activities of the anti-graft agency under will return again today to continue taking questions from the investigators who want a few clarifications from the EFCC boss.

Ayo Salami, former president of the court of appeal is heading the presidential panel probing Magu. The panel grilled the anti-corruption czar till about 10 at night.

The minister of justice Abubakar Malami had asked President Muhammadu Buhari to dismiss Magu after he (Malami) accused him of mismanagement of recovered funds and gross insubordination.

Among other things, Magu will also be explaining to the presidential panel why there are variances in the amount purportedly recovered and what was recorded in the books.

Magu is also accused of leaking investigative reports to the media, sale of confiscated assets to cronies, associates and friends and ignoring court orders.
