COVID-19: Nigeria’s Death Toll Rises to 760

Nigeria’s death toll from the coronavirus pandemic has risen to 740. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in a tweet on Sunday, announced 16 new deaths in from the virus.

Nigeria also recorded 571 new coronavirus infections on Sunday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 32, 558. The new figures show a decrease from the 664 cases announced on Saturday.

The new cases were reported in 20 states, with Lagos recording 152. Other states include; Ebonyi-108, Edo-53, Ondo-46, FCT-38, Oyo-20, Kwara-19, Plataeu-17, Bayelsa-14, Ekiti-14, Osun-14, Akwa Ibom-11, Kaduna-11, Rivers-11, Niger-10, Ogun-7, Kano-6, Cross River-4 and Bauchi-2.

All 36 states in the country, including the Federal Capital Territory have recorded at least a case of the disease.

Almost 200,000 samples have been tested since the outbreak.
