22 Year Old Fraud Suspect, Girlfriend, Mother Arrested By EFCC In Delta, Duplex, Mercedes Benz SUV, Cars, Laptop Recovered

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Benin, Edo state, have arrested a fraud suspect, Kenneth Gift. Kenneth was arrested alongside his girlfriend, Spice Igwe, and his mother, Dorah Aninah. The prime suspect, Kenneth is a student of the University of Port Harcourt.

Dele Oyewale, the commission’s spokesperson announced in a statement on Thursday that the 22-year-old computer science undergraduate and his accomplices were arrested in Agbor, Delta state. The EFCC spokesperson revealed that their arrest followed a petition received from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

“Their arrest was sequel to a petition from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and intelligence by operatives of the Commission,” Oyewale said.

“Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include a 5-bedroom duplex, Mercedes-Benz CA250, Mercedes-Benz C250, Mercedes Benz GLK 350, laptop computers and mobile phones.

The commission said the suspects have made their statements and they will be prosecuted.

“The suspects have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are complete,” the EFCC said.

The activities of Nigerian fraudsters have continued to dent the image of the country abroad. Several high profile fraud suspects have been arrested in Nigeria and overseas in recent times.
