UTME Cut-off Mark For Universities Now 160 – JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced the new cut-off marks for 2020/2021 admission for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education on Tuesday. The cut-off mark for Universities is now 160; the mark for Polytechnics is now 120, while that of Colleges of Education and innovative institutions is now 100.

This was revealed by the Registrar and Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, at the 2020 policy meeting on the admission for the 2020/2021Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The Board said about 612, 557 candidates were offered admission in 2019 but  510, 957 admission spaces were not utilized by tertiary institutions, and that, only 1,157,977 candidates who sat for the UTME IN 2019, had the required five credits including Mathematics and English.

The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba has also directed JAMB and tertiary institutions to proceed with the 2020/2021 admission scheduled to begin in August based on the guidelines submitted by JAMB. Institutions have been warned not to charge more than N2,000 for screening.
