Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo has called President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria over the phone to apologise over the demolition of a building at the Nigerian High Commission in Accra.
Nana Akufo-Addo said perpetrators of the act would be punished according to the dictates of the law.
In a statement made available to the press by Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant to President Buhari on media and publicity, Akufo-Addo spoke with his Nigerian counterpart over the phone on Tuesday.
Shehu also disclosed that the authorities in Ghana have launched a full investigation into the matter. He informed the press that a few suspects have been arrested and would be charged to court in a few days.
