The president, Muhammadu Buhari is reportedly holding a meeting with the all service chiefs in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Some presidential aides are also understood to be in attendance.
This latest meeting is coming on the heels of multiple attacks by criminal franchises across various parts of the country leading to death of thousands and displacement of millions from their homes.
There have been calls by notable Nigerians including former president, Olusegun Obasanjo for the reorganization of the country’s security architecture and the sack of the present heads of security establishments.
President Buhari has come under pressure by many in his home state of Katsina who took to the streets earlier in the week to protest the frequent attacks by criminal elements on communities in the region.
