Zamfara Guber: Supreme Court Slams N280 Fine on APC for Challenging PDP’s Victory

The Supreme Court has slammed the cost of N280 million against the All Progressives Congress (APC) for challenging its earlier ruling which upheld the victory of Bello Mattawale as Zamfara State Governor.

The apex court ruling, read by Justice John Okoro held that the application for review of the judgment by the APC was an abuse of the court process.

“The finality of the Supreme Court is sealed. The application is a gross abuse of the court process, it is frivolous. The application is hereby dismissed,” Justice Okoro read.

Robert Clarke, a senior lawyer, filed the application on behalf of the APC faction led by a former Zamfara Governor, Abdulaziz Yari.

Victory from God-Secondus

The National Chairman of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus has described the apex court ruling as a victory from God just as he urged Governor Bello Matawalle to be a good team leader.

The National Chairman in a statement advised the Governor to unite the people and move quickly to tackle the myriad of challenges facing the state.

“God has designed this position for you for a purpose and you must do everything humanly possibly not to disappoint both the people and the almighty who sent you there,” Secondus said.

“Identify critical stakeholders who can help you achieve your goals and refuse to be intimidated because you have a special mandate from God.

Finally, Prince Secondus charged PDP members in the state to give the Governor all the needed cooperation and support to help him deliver good governance to the good people of Zamfara State.
