BREAKING: Elrufai Tests Positive to Coronavirus

The Governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir Elrufai has tested positive to the novel Coronavirus infection.
El-Rufai, in a statement and a video shared on Twitter, confirmed that his sample taken penultimate week confirmed that he has contracted the virus.
The Governor said “Earlier this week, I submitted a sample for the Covid-19 test. The result came in this evening, and I regret to say that it is positive.
“According to the protocols for managing Covid-19, I am in self-isolation as required by the case management guidelines of the NCDC for someone that is not showing symptoms. 
“I wish to appeal to the people of Kaduna State to continue to closely observe the preventive measures already announced. 
“It is most important that everybody should do their utmost to stay safe, stay home and stay alive.
“The Deputy Governor is chairing our Covid-19 Taskforce and will continue to issue statements from time to time
Governor Elrufai is the second Governor to have contracted the virus after his Bauchi state counterpart Bala Mohammed was also tested positive to Coronavirus
Meanwhile, the Opposition Coalition SpokesPerson, Ikenga Imo Ugochineyere has reacted to the news in a statement title “We pray for El-Rufai and 89 other Nigerians”.

Ugochinyere said, “We wish Gov Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna who today tested Positive and the over 89 other  Nigerians who have tested Positive to the Coronavirus Quick Recovery. Let’s continue to stay safe, maintain Social distancing, remain at home if possible and follow all instructions issued out by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control”.
As at 4 pm Nigerian time eight (8) new cases of COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria, 7 in Lagos and (1) in Benue state. which puts the total number of confirmed cases at eighty- nine (89) with one death and 3 discharged.
