We will tax Nigerians More To Fund Budget – FG

Nigerians welcomed the early presentation of the 2020 federal budget estimates by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 8, 2019 to the National Assembly in accordance with Section 81 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, as amended.

The budget, aptly titled, Budget of Sustaining growth and job creation, projects expenditure in the sum of N10.330tn.

However, Nigerians have groaned under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari following unfriendly policies. His main thrust is to fight corruption and insecurity.

Just recently, September 13, 2019, to be précised an increment announcement was made on the VAT from 5 to 7.5% and hurriedly approved by the FEC. This has been a talking point for Nigerians as the new rate comes into effect January 2020.

However, the federal government has claimed that the increment is meant for only the rich.
