The Rivers caucus of the House of Representatives has expressed sympathy for the victims of the recent tanker explosion on Eleme road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. In a statement released on Monday by the caucus leader, Rep. Dumnamene Dekor (PDP-Rivers), the lawmakers conveyed their sorrow over the devastation caused by the inferno.
“As representatives of our people, we extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones affected by the tragic inferno. Our hearts go out to the lives lost and the profound grief that has enveloped our beloved Rivers State. This tragic fire incident should deeply resonate with our community, given the significant losses incurred; we stand in solidarity with those mourning the loss of their dear ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with every individual impacted by this tragedy,” stated Dekor.
Dekor also called upon philanthropists and fellow Nigerians to offer assistance to those affected by providing any possible aid. Furthermore, he urged Nigerians to use this moment to contemplate the importance of safety measures and preventive strategies to avert similar tragedies in the future.
