The Kaduna State House of Assembly has launched an investigation into the state government’s financial transactions during the term of former Governor Nasir el-Rufa’i.
In a letter to the Commissioner of Finance, the House requested the submission of a memorandum and financial transaction documents from 2015 to May 2023.
According to a letter signed by the Clerk to the Legislature, Barr. Sakinatu Hassan Idris, the investigation is being conducted in accordance with Order XVI Rule 9 of the Standing Orders and Rules of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, 2019, as well as Sections 103, 128 and 129 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 Constitution.
The House has directed the Commissioner of Finance to forward the requested documents to the Ad-Hoc Committee investigating Loans, Financial Transactions, Contractual Liabilities & Other Related Matters of The Government of Kaduna State.
