Troops Raid IPOB Headquarters, Neutralize Members in Imo State

According to a statement released on Sunday by Onyema Nwachukwu, the army spokesperson, Nigerian Army troops have reportedly eliminated a suspected member of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) during a raid on their hideouts in Imo State. The operation took place at Ihiteukwa community in Orsu Local Government Area on Saturday.

During the raid, three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were discovered by the troops. The statement highlighted that the troops successfully cleared the IPOB/ESN hideout in Ihiteukwa community after engaging in a fierce firefight, resulting in the neutralization of one IPOB/ESN terrorist on March 2, 2024.

Upon securing the area, a thorough search of the hideout was conducted, leading to the recovery of various items including weapons such as ammunition, a locally made gun, vehicles like a Toyota Highlander SUV and a Hilux, as well as banned Biafran uniforms, electronic devices, currency, and other miscellaneous items like solar panels and charms.
