The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced that a federal high court in Borno state has mandated the release of 313 suspected terrorists detained by the military due to insufficient evidence following investigations. Edward Buba, the director of defence media operations, confirmed that the suspects would be handed over to the Borno state government as per the court’s directive.
Additionally, the military disclosed successful operations in Borno and Adamawa states, where troops from Operation Hadin Kai eliminated 50 terrorists in each state. Notably, Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents were neutralized in various locations, and a significant cache of weapons, along with monetary assets, was recovered.
The military’s efforts resulted in the neutralization of 52 terrorists, the arrest of 137 individuals, and the rescue of 78 hostages. Furthermore, the air component of Operation Hadin Kai conducted successful air interdictions on terrorist hideouts, leading to the destruction of terrorist logistics and the neutralization of several militants.
