President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman, and has replaced her with the Director of Finance, Mohammed Koko.
Usman confirmed to The Gazette on Thursday that she was aware of her suspension from office, but has yet to receive any formal communication to that effect from the Ministry of Transportation.
However, it not yet clear why the NPA MD, who was only reappointed in January by President Buhari, was removed.
According to reports, a panel of enquiry has been constituted to look into the matter that prompted her suspension, as well as other concerns.
The panel is to begin its investigations on Monday.
