Yoruba Nation: Tinubu Warns Ethnic Agitators

President Bola Tinubu has issued a stern warning to ethnic agitators threatening Nigeria’s sovereignty, following the invasion of the Oyo State House of Assembly Complex by Yoruba Nation agitators. A statement by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale said that in a meeting with leaders of the Yoruba socio-cultural body, Afenifere, Tinubu warned that those attempting to undermine Nigeria’s unity will face the full consequences of their actions.

The President reaffirmed his commitment to the country’s unity and constitutional democracy, highlighting progress in the fight against insurgency and kidnapping, and emphasized his administration’s unrelenting effort to ensure national security and stability.
The President’s stance on security and economic development is backed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, who highlighted the administration’s achievements in re-engineering the nation’s finances, boosting citizens’ purchasing power, and spreading prosperity down the line with the establishment of a credit system.

The President also emphasized the importance of education as a weapon against poverty and the need to invest in the future of the youth. To this end, the administration has established the National Student Loan Scheme to help parents with training their children in school.
In addressing the issue of unemployment, the President is exploring ways to provide allowances for the unemployed and boost the purchasing power of citizens through the Consumer Credit Scheme. The President thanked the Afenifere leaders for their prayers and support, assuring them of his resolve to advance Nigeria.

The Alabo of Ilu-Abo, Akure, Ondo State, Oba Olu Falae, who spoke for the delegation, commended the President for his courageous decisions and ongoing projects, including the rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. He urged the President to ensure fairness and equity for all Nigerians and noted the importance of a constitutional amendment to devolve more powers to the states. The President’s commitment to security, economic development, and fairness for all Nigerians is a testament to his dedication to the country’s progress and unity.
